I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Riverbed is a WAN accelerator technology.
It stands at both ends of a link and transfers data in a managed way.  This can include Network Memory, Caching, Prioritising.

SCCM is a Desktop/Laptop/Server Configuration utility that automates the deployment, building of Applications and Operating systems.

BITS - Background Intelligent Transfer
Is a way of transferring files using throttling techniques so as to only utilise an acceptable amount of bandwidth

cheers

Tried it many moons ago.  In terms of OSD...the bits would stay on there for about a week, then get pushed off.  You're better off setting up a Windows 7 box as a DP.
MarkieSCommented:
Unless you have a need for WAN acceleration (VoIP for instance) BITS and a Windows 7 Distribution Point will do fine for SCCM OSD and App deployment.
