Does Strontium iDrive nitro or Sandisk iXpand backup iOS data+apps? Any adapter to emulate them?

Q1:
Does the above 2 items backup (there's bundled backup software) Whatsapp, SMS, apps software to the media?

Q2:
If we don't use the above items but just a microSD, is there any adapter out there that could adapt a microSD to
the Lightning port of iPhone 5/6/6+ to perform the same function?  I know Nitro Strontium has such adapters
for microUSB (for Galaxy phones) but have not seen any such adapter for Lightning.  If there is such Lightning
adapters, pls provide the eBay or Amazon links

Q3:
Is the format of the files copied out readable directly by a Windows laptop or it's only MAC OSX ?  Must the
media be formatted in Apple Journaled file system before being used & how to perform this formatting?

Q1 = NO
Q2 = NO.  There are Lightning to SD card readers but they only work with iPad not iPhone and you need an additional adapter to use the MicroSD card

Q3 = iOS can read FAT32 formatted devices which work on OSX and Windows. As long as you have a MicroSD adapter such as the SanDisk Extreme Pro Micro SD card w/ SanDisk adapter and then it will only work with iPads (see Q2)

Basically you CANNOT extend the storage space for apps or music/photos with external SD card of any type it is simply not part of the Apple iPhone ecosystem.  You buy the biggest memory on the iPhone you can afford and live within those limits.

The SD card readers and lightning to USB adapters you list above are really just for backing up your camera photos/videos and you can also play movies and view phots on the drive without copying onto the iPhone.
