Excel - automatically update pivot table from source filter

I have created a pivot table from a source spreadsheet A, and would like to know if there is a way to automatically update the pivot table results based on filtering values of a filed in spreadsheet A.

For example, in spreadsheet A, I have a field Age for all age ranges. If I filter on ages < 45, how can I configure the pivot table to change its values based on the new filter of age < 45 in spreadsheet A?

HI,

Why don't you filter on the pivot table

EDIT by putting a copy of the Age FIled in the Report Filter Area and then select the correct values in the filter Probably in B1
