Are you sure? OS 10.6 will install on any Mac with an Intel processor. If your iMac still has the Motorola G5 chip, it is older than 8 years old as the G5 was discontinued in Jan. 2006.

10.6 is a better OS and should work with most hardware, but I have an old copy of 10.5 I could upload for you if you really need it.
