Why Samba is called Samba?

Samba is a Brazilian carnival dance name. So why does Linux protocol called the same?
I didn't understand the Wikipedia explanation, frankly...

The name goes back near 30 years, so it is hard to know what the author intended. But it does allow Linux to dance with other systems.

The actual protocol is called SMB for Server Message Block.  The software for using it is called Samba because it is easier to remember.
It was derived from the original name 'smbserver'.  Later it was changed due to trademark issue.

...It does allow Linux to dance with other systems

I like John's answer :)
The name "Samba" was derived by running the Unix command grep through the system dictionary looking for words that contained the letters S, M, and B, in that order (i.e. grep -i '^s.*m.*b' /usr/share/dict/words).
They looked for words that contained the letters s, m, and b in that order in the dictionary. Somewhere in there was the word "samba", and they decided to use it.

Thank you ALL for your opinions!

I was myself thinking about Linux dancing with Windows, but samba is a kinda dance in which dancers dance in a group, but alone (without a partner that is). Probably, because of SMB abbreviation they chose specifically that type of dance.
