Server 2008

Hi Have a client using server 2008 32 bit but I am finding it hard to get a licence for this in my region. Could I use licence for 64 bit even though the system inst using 64bit? I don't think I can but I wanted to ask.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

it is possible to downgrade, so you can buy windws server 2012 R2 licence and downgrade it to windows server 2008 R2 (I am not sure about windows server 2008, because you do not write your version is R2). So if this is possible maybe this is better way for you how to licence the server

From R2 Windows 2008 is 64 bit only. You can buy a licence for R2 and use it for your 32bit server.
