Joining server to domain

I need to join a legacy 2008R2 server to a domain.  There are many folder/file privileges on that legacy server.  Is there anyway to automate changing (migrating) those folder privileges from legacyServer\UserAccount to domain\UserAccount?

I'll disagree somewhat - it depends on what the folders are.  If you're talking about user folders, then a simple script could potentially do the trick.  If the user names match... if the... You get the idea - you haven't provided a lot of potentially necessary information to know if you could do this in an automated way.

Indeed, I think to some extent it doesn't matter - you can use tools to read the existing permissions and match up the accounts (especially if the account names match).

Account names match.  Folders are not user folders but network shares in a lot of different folders with  specific access (some to just certain sub folders).
