I have a customer who is looking to buy a third party tool to export bulk PST from Exchange 2013 servers?

We are doing From EAC running compliance management, searches, but the process is very slow and a lot of performance issues were found on the MBX servers

Thanks in advance

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What I would recommend is using something like Exchange Recovery by Kernel Data Recovery. This software can read EDB files and you can export your mailboxes to PST's. This is completely offline from exchange.

what about performance on exchange server during the bulk mailbox export to pst files?

Are you saying in general using New-MailboxExportRequest? or with the Exchange Recovery?

If you are talking about the Export using New-MailboxExportRequest you can Throttle the MRS Service.

If you are talking about Exchange Recovery, you do not need to throttle anything because you do the exports directly from a restored EDB file and the server where you have the program is installed (member server).

I am looking for an easy way to export bulk mailboxes to a PST files without affecting the performance of my existing Exchange organization 2013.

When you export mailboxes it is going to use resources on your Exchange server unless you use a 3rd party tool like I described. The alternative is scripting the mailbox export but run them in batch jobs of 5 to 10 at a time. The more you run at the same time it is going to use more resources on exchange.

Another alternative is running the batch jobs during off business hours, have them scheduled.

Using EAC for migration of multiple edb files is always time consuming and insecure, you can’t avoid this.

What you can do is, you can take help from a professional 3rd party tool to save your time as well as efforts. Stellar EDB to PST Converter is one good alternative for this as this software allows you to convert multiple edb files to PST simultaneously, keeping your mailbox integrity intact.  Using this software you can convert your mailbox data from online as well offline edb file and save them to different file formats such as PST , EML ,RTF, HTML etc. Even, accidentally or intentionally deleted emails(if any) from your mailbox will also be restored.
