Linking / Duplicating Slicers Across Multiple Sheets

I have the following situation:
A workbook that utilizes PowerPivot / Data Model
Several Pivot Tables/Charts that are linked to the Data Model
Alike-Slicers (filtering the same field) existing across multiple sheets connected to the same Pivot Tables.

My Question:
How do I structure the Data Model, Pivot Tables, and/or the Slicers so that when a Slicer filters its connected table the Alike-Slicers make the same filtering-selections on different worksheets.

I believe my exact problem is described very well here:

However, there doesn't appear to be a solution provided to that contest.

Hello,
that contest was held 5 years ago, so there may be different approaches now.

I find that the following works in both Excel 2010 and Excel 2013

- create pivot tables and pivot charts on the different sheets
- on one sheet add the desired slicer
- connect the slicer to all the pivot tables
- copy the slicer
- paste the slicer to the other sheets

Now, when I change the slicer selection, all pivots get updated, and all slicers are syncronized to the same setting.

Cool, the reason I didn't think this worked is.... a few months back I made a worksheet with slicers that filtered pivot tables/charts. Then on a separate sheet I connected slicers that filtered a regular table (the table the pivots were based off of).

So I guess my real question is.....Is there anyway for a slicer to be connected to a regular table and a pivot table?

Or.... Am I better of creating some sort of "get data" macro that essentially double clicks the pivot table and opens a new sheet with the data post filtering by a slicer?

A slicer connects to the underlying pivot cache.

You can combine several slicers that point to the same pivot cache.

In situations where you have different pivot caches, the slicers will not synchronize.

That is NOT what you outlined in your question, though. Your original question is about pivot tables from the same data model. Hence, your question has been answered and the answer should be marked.

You may want to post a new question about synchronizing slicers across different pivot caches.
