server 2008 indexing service iis7.0 html code to search the index catalog

I have setup a server 2008r2 with indexing.
I am indexing network shares for key word searches
We have tested html code on server 2003 iis6 and keyword search of indexes work fine
when we use the same code on server 2008r2 IIS7.0 when the seach goes to display the results.asp page, the browser returns a 500 error

I am looking for html code that will work on my server 2008r2 iis7.0 install that will allow searching of the index catalog
OR
someone to assist with why the results.asp page gives a
500 - Internal server error.
There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.
thanks in advance

Try run the seach on the server running iis. The result.asp page should give a full reason for the error with the exact line of code that is breaking the process. It will be a lot easier to troubleshoot that way.

Thanks for the post.
I was able to fix the problem by turning off friendly error messages in IE, enabling send errors to browsers in asp settings in iis, creating a web.config in the root of wwwroot folder
This showed the error and which line of code
Googling the error found this is a known problem by Microsoft
It came down to a security patch on the serve
Uninstalling the patch allowed the code to access the index catalog and the search results were displayed
