Red Hat and kernel distribution version

My current RedHat version is 2.6.18-406.el5xen. What version of RedHat do I use ?

Install a distribution package mysql-proxy-0.8.5-linux-rhel5-x86-64bit.tar.gz. It should be based on Redhat 5. Correct ?  Is it compatible with my current RedHat ?  Tks

What you are showing is your kernel version, which is old.

Type the following command to find out what version of Red Hat you are using:

cat /etc/redhat-release

Paste the output here so we can help if you need further explanation.
