Adobe CS6 on iMac OSX license issue

We recently installed a new replacement iMac for one of our designers, we did a copy of the old boot drive and since the new OS was Yosemite we set it up and migratd the user back into the new computer.  Here is the issue, Adobe is on the new computer but we do not have access to the license.  We want to deactivate the Adobe CS6 on the old computer but we do not recall the Adobe ID that was used with it.  We have logged in with our own but do not see this CS6 listed on it.  

How do we get the license to the new computer if we don't remember the Adobe ID to reactivate it?  Is the Adobe ID that was used to activate it somehow stored somewhere within the computer?  I can't just deactivate the old computer until I can ensure it is working on the new.

What is a recommended way to get this working with the license issue, if when I deactivate it shows me the old Adobe ID or serial number to use then that is fine, I don't want to deactivate and find it it provides me with no information to activate the one on the new machine.

Need help before the user comes in tomorrow.

I have been through this before. In the end, it was a matter of calling Adobe Customer Service and explaining the situation to them. Using the product serial number, they were very helpful and gave me the ID associated with it. They even deactivated the old copy for me so that I could use the new one.

Unfortunately, in spite of years of effort to build a decent and reliable customer service system, it is still a crap shoot. I would give them a call and try your luck. If you are unsuccessful, I would hang up and try again with a new agent. It that still doesn't work, let me know and I will see if I can get you a contact that you can use to escalate your ticket.

I called and they do not give phone support for Adobe CS6 so I was disconnected.  Do not know who I would connect to

Tried 2 people both of which were not able to help even though they remoted into our screen to take a look

Create a reliable backup. Make sure you always have dependable copies of your data so you can restore your entire system or individual files.

Did you by any chance get the software through Adobe? There may need to be a proof of purchase to prove that you are not just hijacking someone else's license.

No it was another consultant who purchased the software and the company reimbursed him for the cost but we cannot find the package anywhere and cannot get in touch with the consultant unfortunately.

So far no info. It seems the few folk I know at Adobe have all gone on vacation at the same time. I'll keep scratching around..

I had a buddy contact me from his vacation. If you can give me your serial number, he can look up the ID. That should get you down the road.

We finally decided to upgrade to Creative Cloud and it allowed us to redownload CS6 as it gives us the full suite.  It cost more but too many projects that had to be done.
