vmware upgrade ver6.0

A client of our company has vsphere ver5.1 with 3 hosts.
The hardware are becoming old, it is time to replace with new hardware.
Is there any benefit to upgrade to ver6.0 for a small company? or better to stay with 5.1?
I will appreciate your comments on this.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

At a minimum I would upgrade to 5.5 .  Check the HCL to see if 6.0 is compatible.

VMware ESXi 6.0 has many new features and improvements, so it will be beneficial small or big company, doesn't matter... If you're buying new hardware anyway, why not upgrade to the latest release?

Just make sure you purchase hardware that is on the compatibility list

Personally at present I would remain with 5.1, until 6.0 has had it's first major update.

What new features do they want to use ?

and what vSphere license do they currently have ?
