I have loaded SSMS on my local PC and have everything set the way I want, where is this configuration stored?  I would like to back up the location of my SSMS settings  In case my HD fails.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What kind of configuration are you talking about? The registered servers?

Configuration stored in the master database. You can setup the backup of System and user database. (system databases - (Master, Model, MSDB) -- for backup.

you can document the database and database file location from this query.
select database_id, DB_NAME(database_id), name, physical_name from sys.master_files

SQL logins information.
select * from sys.syslogins

If your hard disk fail all database which are placed on the disk would not be accessible. You have to restored them from backup. so please setup the backup of system db and user db as well
