Automatic maintenance plans for SQL Server 2008 R2

Hi Experts,
Are there any automatic maintenance plans for SQL Server 2008 R2 that cleans log files, or archives old data in the database.
If so, how can this be done?

Thank you,
mrotor

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Maintenance Cleanup Tasks should be used to delete old files.
What do you mean with archive old data?

How do I use Maintenance Cleanup Tasks?  Where do I go to set these?

In SSMS, go to Maintenance section, right-click on Maintenance Plans and chose the Wizard. Then select the Cleanup Task and provide the necessary data.
