Secure FTP

Can anyone point me a quick reference guide to setup a secure FTP server on red / centos ?

Do I need to purchase a 3rd certificate ? Is there any workaround solution if i want to save the cost...

Tks

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If you mean SFTP, it is based on SSH and you do not have to buy a certificate for it because it does not use SSL/TLS.  Here is the How-To page:  http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/sftp

Redhat + centos, and linux in general come with SSH/SFTP client + server S/W and you don't have to buy.

Also, if you need FTP then you can use VSFTP server on them which comes free.
