Video Driver for Lenovo Laptop

The system consisted of :
- A laptop (This is Lenovo E 550)
- A Docks
- 2 monitors (Asus monitors)

The Problem:
- Once in a while, for sure everyday, The screens of the above 2 monitors would blink SUDDENLY, then the screen becomes DARK.....then a few minutes later, it will be normal again

I checked the Device Manager
- Nothing error message (No yellow color question mark symbol)
- However, When I check the Display; there is only 1 driver; I did not see the driver for the dock
- Then, When I check the Device "Monitor"; I saw it is just a generic Monitor; it is NOT mentioned as Asus, etc

Thanks,
tjie

Disable power management for devices like dock, displays etc.

What dock is this about? Generic USB3 like Targus or Lenovo specific?

Here is the Lenovo driver link for the video driver for your machine (new driver June 1 this year).

Hi,

I am sorry to respond late as all given solution did not work.

Here is the additional info:

The Dock is the Lenovo Thinkpad Onelink Pro Dock

1)      Firstly, it is not Video Driver (I have got the latest one)
2)      The problem is the Docks
3)      I have got the latest Firmware version 2.24.000 [Here is the latest firmware: tp_onelink_pro_dock_fw (see the attachment)]; Ok i try to reconfirm again, and here is the message:

Version: 2.24.000
Update result: 16
Error description: Your Dock has already got the same Firmware version 2.24.000 installed

Thanks,
tjie

>>  1)      Firstly, it is not Video Driver (I have got the latest one)  <<   even the :latest one can be bad-  - but you can roll back to an older one

if you suspect the dock -  swap it out with another one, or test with another pc

@nobus,

i did
It happened to 3 users already which used the Lenovo E540 and E 550
We swapped the docks, and same result. So the problem is still there

Can you try a different design of dock? There are docks that attach to the laptop and USB docks. Perhaps the USB dock will work.  I like the attach kind and we do not have these issues with commercial "T" or "X" model laptops.

@John:

Yes, for the older version of the dock, we do not have problem

And this the Lenovo Thinkpad Onelink Pro Dock, do not have problem with the older version of Lenovo such as 520, 530, etc ....

The problem is only at E540 and E 550

And we cannot back off as the company has bought a lot of the above Docks and E 550
JohnBusiness Consultant (Owner)Commented:
I suggest you call Lenovo Support and escalate your case. You know it is a dock problem and what dock and know it is not the computer. So Lenovo needs to fix / replace the docks.

@John

Have you experienced contacting the Lenovo Support?
I heard the service is bad (i am not sure)
Do you know their phone# in USA?
Thanks

Try 1-855-253-6686. This is Sales Support (and you purchased something) but they will hand you off to technical support if need be.

I do not work for and am not affiliated in any way with Lenovo and cannot speak for them.

However the Bluetooth daughter card in my X230 failed and I called Lenovo Support in Canada (I have that number) and they had the part to me inside of 2 hours. I was very pleased.
