"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

This is what I have tried for 1)

Dim url As String = "http://www.compubyte.co.za/forum"

        Process.Start(url)

The thing is how do I know that the process completed successfully - i.e web page loaded correctly

There is no way for you to know because you have no handle on the process. Try the WebBrowser control. It raises an event for you to monitor success (or failure)
