Exchange 2013 mailbox import queued; Job Pickup Failure

Hi, all!  Platform is Exchange 2013 DAG (current patch level) running on Windows Server 2012 R2.

Trying to import a freshly-made PST file to a new Exchange 2013 account.  The import is stopping at 0% and sitting at "Queued".  The get-mailboximportrequeststatistics shows the message "Job pickup failure".  This is the only import in the queue; Mailbox Replication service and Transport service have both been restarted.  Job has been deleted and recreated multiple times, same result.  Restarting the server is not really an option at this point (I doubt it's a server issue needing reboot, but whatever).  One small import (858M) has already succeeded this morning; this is the second one and considerably larger (12G).  This job has been tried both from the EMC and Exchange Management Shell.

Suggestions?  Thanks.

Hi,

Why dont you just import it into outlook when outlook is opened with the account you want to import it too?

Can we also try use the scan pst tool to verify the pst is ok?

12GB is monumental for a PST, wouldnt be surprised if this was the issue.

you can also try to copy the pst from one location to the other, this used to fix pst files for me back in the exchange and outlook 2003 days, seemed to rebuild the context or index of the pst doing this.

Re-created the PST file, importing the new copy yielded the same "Job Pickup Failure" message.  Making copies of the PST (either one) had zero effect on the result; other PSTs made from same server worked on import.  I plan to create PSTs of the various pieces of the account if nobody has any suggestions.  Importing it from Outlook will be tried if the problem cannot be determined.

Try to add the –skipmerging parameter with FolderRules,FolderACLs value to import this PST file.
Something like this:

New-MailboxImportRequest -Mailbox UserName -FilePath \\SERVER01\PSTFiles\Recovered.pst -TargetRootFolder / -skipmerging “FolderRules,FolderACLs”
