Export iMessages from iPhone to MAC

I have an iPhone and i want to export and than import my iMessages to my macbook pro. I want to make sure that all the messages are now identical on both devices. Reason being i got a mac not to long ago and the messages are not the same on the mac. I need that historical data on the mac. So i can replay via the mac or the iPhone since they are now sync together.

Thanks David but that only backs up your data to the machine.

What I  need is to export my texts from my iPhone and import it to the iMessages app on my MacBook Pro. So that now the iMessages on both my iPhone and MacBook Pro show the same data. That's what  looking for not to backup the data and save it on my machine as a file.
