I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi

If you practise most of the below you will get the confidence to talk about them freely than read about them....
table design (Normalization (relational db), de-normalization (star schema vs snow falke design -Datawarehouse)
Primary key, composite key, foreign key
        what is referential integrity
Normalization  1st normal form , 2nd , 3rd should be enough but there are upto 7+ forms
         de-normalization  ( (fact means ? & dimension means ? tables)
joins (left join , right join, self join etc...)
        counts
        sum
        max
        unions

Performance & Data  issues that you faced at the source db and while loading.
How you can improve sql query performances  eg. Select columnname ... is faster than select *  as the 1st get only 1 column in the record set while the Select  * gets all records into the record set..

why u need a star or snow flake design vs relational db normalized design?
why u need Datamart ?
what is reference data?
