Mercruiser engine problem

Mercruiser 4.3L EFI is smelling gas fra the engine room.
Took of the flame arrestor,  and see 2 barrels having gas gushed into them when running motor.
Think the smell comes from the carb somewhere.  No leaks can be found.
On the flame arrestor there are two hose studs, one has a hose going down under
somewhere, wheras the other stud has no hose on it.  Is this right ?
Please advise if you think this smell is a symptom of something wrong with the carb,
and possibly dangerous.

regards erik.

Yes, any gas leak is a potential cause of fire and very dangerous to drive.
The fumes may in-pare your ability to drive safely.

I  suggest you immediately  visit  your local Mercruiser authorized service garage or dealer garage for inspection and a quote for service / repair.
