SBS2011. Not all shared folderw are showing in Remote Web Workspace.

Hi,

I have 5 users that are using Remote Web Workspace. However they cannot see all shared folders on the SBS2011 server.  Access to the shared folders can be accessed normally on the client PC's when either connected via VPN or on the same local network. Where can I add the shared folders to RWW?

Thanks,
Colin

Do you have a bunch of shared folders?  Do the remote workers need access to all shared folders or just a particular set.  Do they have workstations to connect to on the local LAN?

In most cases this is due to permissions on the shares - Check your share permissions and NTFS permissions for the users.

I have however had this issue in the past and wasn't able to fix it with permissions.  My users were seeing some shares but not others.  In the end I had to manually define which shares could be accessed in the web.config file located here:

See here for reference:

The article is referring to how to add remote server shares to RWW but it can be adapted to define your local server (using the UNC path).   It is a bit of a pain and is more of a bodge than a fix.  Maybe use it as a last resort.
