"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Here's a discussion which answers your question - http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/260079-32-wd2002fyps-wd2003fyys

Basically, the WD2003FYPS is faster whereas the 2002 one is meant to be "green" and use less power, but it also slower.

The first one has a five year warranty compared to the second one's one year warranty.

The first only spins up to 5400 rpm and has various power saving and green features.  The second one spins from 5400-7200 rpm.
