I'm trying to import .pst's using the "New-MailboxImportRequest" PowerShell command on the Exchange 2013 server in the parent domain and it says it can't find the user on the parent domain. That is true. The user is on the child domain. I have run the following commands to specify a DC in the child domain but it still doesn't work.
Set-ADServerSettings -PreferredServer widgetdc.widget.contoso.com
Set-ADServerSettings -ViewEntireForest $true
I get "The operation couldn't be performed because object 'jane doe' couldn't be found on 'contosodc.contoso.com"
I can do a "Get-Mailbox 'jane doe'" and get the correct information back without an error. Something with the "New-MailboxImportRequest" command keeps looking at the parent DC and not the child DC. Any ideas. Thanks.
