I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I think I would try clearing the event log as it may have built up.

In the Action Menu of Event Viewer, there is an option to clear all events.

Stop the SQLServerAgent Service first before clearing the event log.

SQLServerAgent needs to write to the Log file and when you clear the event log the event log is stopped for a moment and that's when SQLServerAgent gives you the 312 and 318 errors

Stop the SQLServerAgent

Clear the event log

Restart the SQLSERVER Agent.
