VoIP VLAN setup for an Existing system not VLAN'd

We have an existing network that is not VLAN'd, VoIP and Data are segmented via subnet-ting.

My first question is in order too put the VoIP on a VLAN, does Data then also have to go to a VLAN?

Next, does each subnet that we have need to have a separate VLAN or can we subnet on the Data VLAN if needed.

We have Dell power connect 6248's & 6248P's, we do routing via Barracuda NG-F400's.

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you need to have a 2 VLAN in your network for both Data and Voice network to run seemlessly.

Because, VoIP devices works different way than data devices.

Also for VoIP phones, you need to set  the DHCP option Field to get more information about TFTP server/Call route server and so on

As I explained, since your network should have two vlans, you also need to have two subnets

You can use the current running one for data and you can create new one for voice .
