Not able to share my calender in Outlook 2010- it says Calender sharing is not available with the following entries

Hi

We use exchange 2007 and outlook 2010. I created a new user today and it will take 24-48 hrs to populate the name on the address book. I wanted to share my calendar with her if I go my calendar Right click- Share calendar and in the To address button if I type the email address manually , (because the name is not still on the address book) and click send

I get window which says Calender sharing is not available with the following entries because of the permission settings on your network.

Do I need to wait until the name is populated on the address book to share my calender.

Any help much appreciated

Why not update your OAB manually on the server with powershell and then download your updated address book via send/receive?

To update your address book in Outlook:

1. Click Tools
2. Select Send/Receive
3. Click Download Address Book
4. It should default to "Download changes since last Send/Receive" checked and "Full Details" selected
5. Click OK

And to answer the question, yes Outlook Calendar sharing does require that you use the "To:" button to select instead of typing in an address or selecting from the dropdown history.
