Azure IAAS and PAAS
Hi,
I need to clarify some features of Azure. I currently have servers in a private cloud running on VMware. 1 SQL server and several application servers with different applications that all have a database on my sql server. Clients for the applications are deployed via Citrix desktop. I need to move from my private cloud and am exploring options but am not fully clear on Azure. At a high level I think I am correct in saying I can use Azure as IAAS in other words create a VM install SQL 2012 on and build other VMs for my application server and Citrix etc. It seems I also have the option of going PAAS so I spin up an SQL server instance (MS look after the OS and everything underlying) I can then deploy full VM's for the application servers and Citrix.
Is this correct or am I misreading. Should I be concerned about any elements at the high level design. Thanks
