Hello

Video streaming on WSE is not working from Remote Web Access. Video starts downloading but not playing.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Could be that Flash player isn't enabled, or HTML5 video isn't "enabled". This took us a while to diagnose, results here:

Should flash player be installed or HTML5 work on the Server or client?

Just seen the screenshot, .asf tends to be a container for other codecs (and usually not flash/html5).

The RDP protocol version 8.0 uses RemoteFX adaptive encoding and will transcode the video on-the-fly into H.264, so you only ever need an H.264 codec on the client irrespective of the video player being used on the server (e.g. Flash, HTML5, DIVX). The H.264 codec is built in to Windows7/8 and the Remote Desktop client thus "just works".

Based on your screenshot, are asf files associated to open in Windows Media Player?
Are you using the same user account when you log on to the server console and when you make the remote desktop connection? Are you using Remote Web Access to log onto the server desktop or a different maching?
