Windows server 2012 R2 assign additional CPU on demand support

HI @ all,

Is there a problem, if I assign an additional CPU on a productive virtualized Windows Server 2012 R2? (virtualized with vSphere 5.5)
I know there were different problems with Windows Server 2003 and 2008.

Thanks for your help.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

None, that I'm aware of.

You must ensure

1. You have VMware Tools installed in the VM.
2. OS Support must have support for Hot Plug CPU.
3. You must have Enabled Hot Plug Support in the VM settings.
4. Support for Hot Plug CPU in your vSphere License.

We were not aware there were issues!
