Undeliverable E-Mail Replies for Dynamics GP Purchase Order E-Mails

Hello:

A GP 2010 end user e-mails purchase orders from GP.  He says that, when vendors reply, they get a message that the e-mail is undeliverable.

Incidentally, this issue does not occur, when he e-mails purchase orders to users within his company.

We have, also, tried creating a new Exchange profile for him.  Still, replies to him from vendors go undeliverable.

Any ideas?

What do they have set up in the "Have Replies Sent to" email address on the email message they are using for the PO? If they are using a distribution list, this might cause the problem they are experiencing. It may work internally, but to work externally they need to have an actual email account in there.

Hi Victoria:

I typed in the full address.  But, we still got the same result--an undeliverable reply.

Can you test with putting an external address in there? Just to test it.
Hi Victoria:

We did that, and it worked.  But, we're concerned with the end user's address and getting replies sent to him.  :(

Ok, so if an external email address is working, the issue seems to be with what you were originally typing in there (the internal address).

Try this - enter the internal address again, save the message. Then go back into the message setup - does the email address appear exactly as you entered it originally? Or does it look different? Also, can you confirm that if you send a regular email to that email address from an external email, it works?
Hi Victoria:

If we send a regular e-mail to that e-mail address from an external e-mail, it does work fine.

When we go back into the message setup, the e-mail address does not appear exactly as it was entered originally.  It appears with the name of the person, from the distribution list, rather than a "full" e-mail address.

Hi Victoria:

What is "DL"?  I'm unclear?

TBSupport
DL is "distribution list". I thought you said this email address is a distribution list?
Hi Victoria:

Yes, that's correct.  I just wasn't sure what "DL" stood for.  :)

I'll keep you posted.

Hello:

Their IT person resolved this by placing the end user's e-mail address into an Outlook distribution list called "Purchasing".  In the "Replies to this E-Mail Address" section, he had this distribution list display as an e-mail address.

Thanks, for the responses!
