SBS 2011 Move WSUS gives ASP.NET 2.0 errors

On SBS 2011 I have used the wizard to move the WSUS data to a different drive, and then moved the database as per the instructions on this page -

Now in the Application Event log I am getting many Event 1309 warnings (details below). I have tried reregistering ASP (using %windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.xxxxx\aspnet _regiis –i) but still no go.

Any suggestions?

Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Try this.

Try the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility for the uninstall:

Then, before you attempt to reinstall, check the Release Notes for Microsoft Windows Server Update Services 3.0

The link for the release notes seems to be dead, so I'm not keen on reinstalling blind. (

Not sure it needs a full reinstall anyway, as the WSUS console seems to run and respond normally. I was just concerned that the warnings might be pointing to a problem elsewhere.

Release notes are here for version 3.0.

A full reinstall will probably fix the issue, but my client isn't willing to do that so I cannot test it.
