Watchguard SNMP Settings

I just gook over a site with Watchguard XTM330 Firewall. I want to get SNMP information from it. It seems fairly straight forward but it is not working. I go to System / SNMP. Set version to V1/V2c and set community string to public. I also added the SNMP management station IP address.

I do not pick up any SNMP from that device.

Is there anything else I need to do?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Public usually only used in the snmptrap setup, you need to create a separate ro community and then specify which OIDs are to be visible for that community.

When you say pick up,what are you using to poll/access the SNMP data?

The link to management server.pdf does not mention SNMP

I use Levelplatforms RMM to collect SNMP data. I am picking up data from all other SNMP devices on that network
Where do I specify the OIDs?

I am unfamiliar with the snmp tool you are using.
Once you enable SNMP, there should be an interfaces tab path at you need to make selections on.
ajdratchAuthor Commented:
When I enable SNMP, all I have to configured is the management station IP address and "use NAT for connections through the SNMP application layer gateway."

does your system have an snmpwalker tool. Do you have the watchguard MIBS loaded?

Do you get no response when accessing the LAN/management ip of the watchguard? Or are you trying to poll tge wan ip?
arnoldCommented:
Here is a reference you followed, the installation of the manager also installs the MIBS.

I installed the System manager. When I went to SNMP it told me I had to create the rule for it which I did. It is working now
