Notes > Exchange calendar issues

Org1 - exchange 2003 outlook 2007
Org2 - lotus notes

Issue - when a meeting request is sent from Outlook (org1) to someone on notes (org2) it appears in the users mailbox ok. They have the option to accept, decline, propose new time etc. If propose new time is selected then a email is sent back to the users mailbox (org1) but the proposal just appears in text within the email subject. The meeting author has no option to accept the new time.

Is this possible or is it a functionality that just doesn't work between the two platforms

I also noticed on the email received by the author showing the new proposed time - that this appears to have a sender of the author not the notes user..

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You might try the compatibility mode they describe in the article, just to see whether it solves your problem. On the other hand, it may create some additional problems.

By the way: what versions are the Notes client and the Domino server?

Apologies for the late response I have had no access for the last week,  Domino Server & Notes client version is 8.5.3 FP6. Soon to be upgraded to 9.0.1 FP4

Let's wait till R9 is installed, the problem might just disappear. If it doesn't, then
- it might be a Notes/Domino problem (unlikely)
- it might be an Outlook/Exchange problem
- it might be that what you're looking for isn't defined in some RFC on iCalendar (very likely)
Domino usually follows the RFCs by the letter, and there is still some iCalendar functionality to be defined. So it might be that both systems are quite capable of doing what you want, but they don't have the means to inform the other party.
