"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Here is a place to start if you're going that route.  It's only the beginning step of some deep looking into it unless someone else here knows.

I guess the first question is, are you willing to code or do you expect it in the menus of Excel somewhere?

anyway here is the pane property discussed at MSDN

https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/microsoft.office.interop.excel.window.panes.aspx

and if you go to the bottom of that and click on the Window members it says gridlines, but don't know if that includes freeze pane lines, are part of the window as you can see here.

I don't know how to go further here, but probably someone else at EE does know if you're going to try.

Thank you for your comments, I thought that was the case but thought I would check with greater minds than mine.
