Router/Switch SNMP community String

When Monitoring Windows Server , if I remember we used to set up the community string (Public) with password on the Monitoring Application, then go to each windows server ,install SNMP service and configure the community string to match the one set up on the Monitoring Application.
I would like to know, in environment that has many cisco switches and routers, do we need to log into each device and configure community string?
if so how can this be done?

Thank you

You need to log  into every device and paste SNMP configuration.
Example for snmp v2 with permit access only to collector (host 10.10.10.10).

(config)# snmp-server community TEST rw ProtectSNMP

(config)# ip access-list standard ProtectSNMP
(config-std-nacl)# permit host 10.10.10.10
(config-std-nacl)# exit
(config)# exit
# copy run start

TEST - community name
ro/rw - read-only/read-write  access
