iis 8.5 application

HI All,

We have an application server running on 2 different machines and our web files are hosted on a a different server and we mapped the folder to the site where the files are located for the site.

This way we no need to worry about to update webpages on every server, we were trying to do auto scaling for servers.

it gives 403 forbidden error when we tried to load the website.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The issue is that the identity (account) of the AppPool that the website is using, does not have access to the shared content.

You need to setup the shared content access for the website on each server.  Essentially you need to update the website's physical path to the content and tell the website to use a specific account to access the content.

You will need to do the following:

1. create a domain account (I am assuming that AD is in place) that has read access to the share where the web content is
2. configure the website to use "Shared Content" and include the account from #1
