Lenovo Laptop Carbon X1 2014
Probably the most ridiculous question ever:
I do not know how to get a backslash "\" or pipe "|" on this keyboard. Does anyone have a full list of shortcut keys for this laptop. The manual only has a few.

left shift and right shift do the same thing on this laptop. I have a key which has both backslash and pipe on, but pressing those gives me # and ~
This isn't OS related either as I had this issue with Win 7 and Win 8.

Can you take a picture of your keyboard and upload it here?
I am able to type | with the key on my keyboard. It is located next to Z key.
If I press the \ key with shift holding - it will make | for me.
Try to add US English and then use Shift + \

What happens if you press right Shift + \?
Usually these keys which are located near to each other are used in combination.

nope this doesn't work either. Don't worry if you don't know - i was hoping someone with this laptop would reply and give me a quick easy answer. Appreciate the help anyway.
I have tried it on Lenovo Carbon X1 but with German Keyboard. And it works there when pressing Shift + \ key.

“If youve got a UK keyboard with a US layout, it's marked as # ~”
The layout turned out to be US (even though I bought it from a UK seller). I just thought this was part of the strange compact lenovo design.
Changing to US settings has brought back all keys.
