IP Blacklist

I have comcast as my ISP, I use a webhosting company for my website and company email. My comcast IP is blacklisted and I cannot get to webmail at the hosting company.

How does my comcast IP address get blacklisted when my email server is at the webhosting company? What can I do to prevent this from happening?

Have you contacted Comcast?  If all you are doing is webhosting and not email, then Comcast should give you an IP address not blacklisted.

It does not really make it clear, webmail is access to a website and usually will not be blocked. Contact first your hosting provider to confirm it is being blacklisted.

Run tracery your_webmail_host
Ere might be a routing issue from you to that location....

It's a good thing to know if you have a static or dynamic Comcast IP address.
If it's static, and you got blacklisted only recently, probably some activity in your own home network caused this blacklisting. Your webhosting company will know more, since they have the log files of WHY and HOW you where blacklisted, so contacting them for more information is the first step. Depending on that answer, we can continue this conversation. How to prevent it depends on many things. It could be a fluke in their detection settings, it could be really your fault (virus, botnet, other infections).

If it's a dynamic IP address, more causes (possible out of your control) are possible, only complicating this matter.

The real answers will come after you post back more details.
