Using session variable, getting lost ?

Hi!

Have code to set session like:

$_SESSION['logoclub'] = $_REQUEST['username'];

echo $_SESSION['logoclub'];   ----> Testlogo

And when i echo out the session in a function, the session is lost ?
Why ?

public function get_settings($db){

            $golftest=$_SESSION['logoclub'];
            echo $golftest;     ----> Blank

                ...
}
