IMAP sync query

I have a customer whose Outlook 2013 folders on some of her imap accounts started losing emails which were still on the provider's (BT Internet) email server so I assumed a corrupted profile (profile A) and set up a new profile (profile B).

All appeared to be fine until a few days later when emails started disappearing from folders in profile B. However, the difference now was that they were also not on the provider's server (which is what I would expect). How this happened I'm not sure; perhaps the customer deleted them herself inadvertently.

Anyhow, looking at profile A (offline) many of the emails that are now missing in profile B are still in profile A.

My question is, if she opens profile A online, will the provider's server now contain the missing emails AND will it remove emails that are not on profile A (which are present on profile B).

Long term, the plan is to use profile B, but after getting back the missing emails and folders that are still on profile A.

Hope this makes sense!

The IMAP server determines what is in the mailbox, if in doubt.
Profile A's mails would get deleted if not on the server.
You can move mails from the offline to the online profile.

If the user deleted mails, the trash can should contain those, unless purged.

Qlemo, thanks for your answer. My follow up question may sound basic but I am not certain how to move mails from the offline profile to the online profile. Can you clarify the best way of doing this please?

Thanks

Sorry, I forgot Outlook 2013 uses OST for IMAP instead of PST (as 2010 and prior). My idea was to mount the cached storage file in Outlook as additional (offline) mailbox file.

So is there any way of getting the emails into the online profile other thn exporting and importing?
