I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Solid Green = Access Point is connected to Controller and ready to accept client
Solid Blue = One or more client(s) is/are connected

Prior to connecting to the WLC, the APs circles through yellow, amber and red colors.

what does an alternating red and green or solid red mean?
AkinsdNetwork AdministratorCommented:
The alternating lights just means it's in the process of joining a controller.
The cycle continues until the AP finally joins.
If the AP Join process fails, the light will stay green for a while and the AP will reboot and begins the process over.

If you're wondering if the particular colors indicate a certain stage in the join process. The lights just continues to cycle until the process completes.

A solid red or amber means there is an error or failure
