Proxmox cannot ping a server in the network yet the rest of that network

Hello Experts,

There is a weird situation with proxmox.

I cannot ping from proxmox a server in the network yet the rest of network I can.

The actual virtual machine can ping the server.

The server we want to ping is the primary DNS server (if it makes a difference).

No idea where to begin troubleshooting.

Since you did not give a lot of information for troubleshoot so this will be wide and general. :)
What to check:
ACLs
VLAN
Trunks
IP address, subnet mask, default gateway on proxmox server
