Corrections/Write Off Wizard not working in Sage Instant 2009 v.15

I am unable to make corrections in Sage Instant v.15 via File/Maintenance/Corrections.

The list of transactions are shown and I can search a trans number via the Find key but then the software freezes and I have to either Control Alt Delete or Esc to exit the screen.

There seems to be no data corruption and everything else is running fine.  When the software is loaded onto my desktop the correction wizard works.

Your help would be appreciated.

I have done this and unfortunately it doesn't help.

This morning I was able to open one PI posting and make corrections but I am still frozen out of others!  Any idea why this is?
Is the data on your PC or a network drive?
Could this be a Windows issue rather than Sage?  The laptop is running Vista.
It's on a clients laptop
It could be an installation issue, V9 will not work properly on anything above XP unless you install it into a directory other than the "Program Files" directory.

Back up, uninstall

Reinstall in say C:\sage
Restore data and see.
Still no luck Bruce.
Can you restore the data on a different installation and check it works?
I've loaded onto my desktop and all works perfectly.
Retracing my steps recently - I was locked out of Sage while using Corrections, a couple of weeks ago,  and had to delete the Queue.data to allow me to re-sign in as Manager.  This must have a link with the current problem?
Deleting queue.dta would not cause this issue.

I am pretty sure it is a permissions issue.

What is the data path?  Help>About will list it.
Data Directory?  If so, it's C:\PROGRAMDATA\SAGE\ACCOUNTS\2009INSTANT\COMPANY.000\ACCDATA
If it works on your desktop and the data is in a valid location (both are the case from what you have said) then it must be an installation issue.

I suggest that you do a "clean re installation"

This is a long and tedious process, mainly because if .net is at fault it takes ages to resolve.

There is a short cut you can take to save un-installing and reinstalling .net and that is to try the .net repair tool, it has worked for me on most occasions.

.net repair

clean reinstall

Thanks Bruce, I'll download the .net repair tomorrow and see how it goes.
Bruce,

Just to let you know - I didn't get chance to run the repair tools you sent me due to work commitments but I've just done a Windows update and Sage Corrections now work perfectly!  What a relief - I was worried I would have to do the clean reinstall, which made me nervous!

Thank you very much for your advice, I really appreciate it.
