Extracting value element from json string

An API returns the following Json string in .net c# application

string cJsonReply = {"error":null,"data":{"shipmentId":9060000,"consolidated":false,"consignmentDetail":[{"consignmentNumber":"62454769","parcelNumbers":["1597667779311","1597668574888"]}]}}

Having difficulty extracting a value for the consignmentNumber which in this example is 62454769.
Please assist by providing syntax to extract the value required

Code that works to extract another value works fine for shipmentid

var obj = JObject.Parse(cJsonReply);
 string cShipmentId = (string)obj["data"]["shipmentId"];

but the structure of the json object does not allow the extraction of the "consignmentnumber" in the same way?

thanks
var obj = JObject.Parse(cJsonReply);
 string cShipmentId = (string)obj["data"]["shipmentId"];

Take a closer look at the JSON itself. The value you want is part of an array:

namespace Console_CS
{
    using Newtonsoft.Json.Linq;
    using System;

    class Program
    {
        static void Main(string[] args)
        {
            string jsonReply = "{\"error\":null,\"data\":{\"shipmentId\":9060000,\"consolidated\":false,\"consignmentDetail\":[{\"consignmentNumber\":\"62454769\",\"parcelNumbers\":[\"1597667779311\",\"1597668574888\"]}]}}";
            var jsonObject = JObject.Parse(jsonReply);
            Console.WriteLine(jsonObject.ToString());
            Console.WriteLine((string)jsonObject["data"]["consignmentDetail"][0]["consignmentNumber"]);
            Console.WriteLine("Done.");
            Console.ReadLine();
        }
    }
}
