Good 3rd party gadgets that are safe for Win 7 and Win 10?

I have the same issue with Gadgets disappearing as the question below (as reference).

Because of the additional security risk, what reliable 3rd party gadgets are out there for Win 7?  Will they also run on Win 10?
All I really want is the clock and calendar.  Others may be interesting, but not as important.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Gadgets came and went with Windows 7. There are no Windows 7-like gadgets in Windows 8 or in Windows 10.  Windows 8 (and 10) have Metro Apps for clock and calendar but they are implemented in an entirely different way.

You can find Calendars similarly.  I do not use any of these so cannot recommend a safe one.  However, those at the top of the list should be OK.

Remember you have the clock in the Systems (Notification) Tray and that can be set up to show seconds if you want.

I am glad your Windows 7 problem sorted out. Your question said "Good for Windows 10" and of course there are no gadgets in Windows 10. So you should be prepared to leave gadgets behind when you upgrade.
