How do I remove drivers?

During a "FREE" upgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 I get an error message after the "compatibility test".
It says I must "Remove Sentinal Runtime Drivers". But gives no hint as to HOW!
I've uninstalled several programs that use a "Sentinal" security key (USB fob) for their licensing.
Of course, as soon as I began to write this, windows erased the error message.

Anyone have any ideas?

First, Windows 8.1 is a different operating system from Windows 8 and it is possible for operating system upgrades to go wrong.

Second, there are programs (NCP, SEP and others) that needed upgrading to run in Windows 8.1

So then two things:

1. Having uninstalled the programs that use Sentinel, does your computer work properly?
2. Have you contacted Sentinel Support and asked how to uninstall their stuff.

Take a look at this Microsoft Support thread

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-hardware/remove-sentinel-runtime-drivers/cd1da0c0-3b92-4f14-bc51-6a5599c9ce2b?auth=1

One successful method was to go the Sentinel website, install the GUI drivers, and then uninstall them and then restart. Windows 8.1 worked after that.

That may help you.
