OSPF Version 2 on ASA

Just wondering if any one has done a OSPF version 2 on an ASA before  and if the following document is correct:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/asa/asa90/configuration/guide/asa_90_cli_config/route_ospf.html#pgfId-1104550

It says to use 'ospf process 2'.

I thought the ospf process # was locally significant and that can be any number.

thanks, LN

The OSPF process ID •can• be any number. The document you've linked to only uses process ID 2 as an example. If you look at the next row in the same table, it uses "network 10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 area 0" to demonstrate "network ip_address mask area area_id" in the same format. Similarly, there's no requirement to use 10.0.0.0/8 as your area 0 network.

Right, I am trying to configure OSPF version 2 so that it can establish neighbor adjacency with another router (which is using version 2). The configuration I have looks correct as per the URL but the neighbor didn't get established but wanted to make sure if there wasn't anything join to configure to make it a version 2.

thanks-LN

Yes that is correct.  ASA in version 9.4 enables version 2 by default.
