Sysvol Migration FRS to DFS-R - Does this effect DFS Namespace

Hi All,

I am planning to migrate our sysvol from FRS to DFS-R as i am looking to introduce a 2012 R2 DC in the near future. I have researched the procedure on how to do this and checked the replication health is all good, a question that has popped into my head is:

Will upgrading sysvol to use DFS-R effect our standard DFS namespace and replicated folders? Our DFS namespace is currently at windows 2000 level and is housed on all of our DC's. All DC's are 2008R2 and domain level is 2008.

Thanks in advance.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It would have no  impact on a healthy environment. But as always, have a backup.
